SAGE SPEY II Sage's new SPEY II reels are specifically designed for the salmon angler, providing an ideal blend of modern, enhanced performance and refined, traditional design. Internally, the SPEY reels utilize a redesigned, sealed carbon fiber disc and a dual-click drag system that ensures reliability, eliminates unwanted spool rotation, and offers exceptional resonance. Mass and balance have received the same attention in our design process as we've updated the model sizing to better align with corresponding Spey rods and adjusted the reel foot position to provide consistent axial balance with the rod. The full-frame design eliminates the possibility of line slippage between the spool and frame, and the addition of a machined radius around the reel foot allows for convenient leader, tippet, or tip wrapping. Completing the package is a classic, elegant aesthetic of porting and laser engraving that Spey anglers will recognize and appreciate. 8/9/10 LARGE ROD, LARGE FISH, LARGE WATER When targeting the largest and strongest anadromous fish on the biggest rivers, drag strength and adequate line capacity become increasingly important.
